when I met her
Olga fuhr einen AMC Gremlin als ich sie kennenlernte
This is our Datsun 260 Z, the second new car I ever bought, spent $6,400 for
it at the time, big
Bucks in 1975. We drove the car across the country from New Jersey to
California. The picture
was taken outside our apartment in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. As you can
see, Olga and
myself look a little younger then.
Hier ist unser Datsun 260Z, mein zweiter Neuwagen. Der Wagen hatte damals
6400.- Dollar gekostet.
Ein Haufen Geld zur damaligen Zeit. Wir sind mit dem Wagen quer durch
Nordamerika gefahren.
Von New Jersey nach Kalifornien. Die obigen Bilder haben wir vor unserer
Wohnsiedlung in
Rancho Palos Verdes, Kalifornien geknipst (Mit einer Polaroid SX70). Wie Ihr auf
den Bildern
erkennen könnt, sehen Olga und ich da noch ein bißchen jünger aus.
1976
Here is a car I really hated from the first day I drove it. A
Chrysler/Plymouth Valiant. It was my
first company car when we moved to California. Luckily it became a "hand me
down" after only
6 months to someone with less seniority.
Das obige Auto hab ich vom ersten Tag an nicht gemocht. Es ist ein
Chrysler/Plymouth Valiant.
Es war mein erster Firmenwagen als wir nach Kalifornien gezogen sind. Zum Glück
konnte ich
die Karre schon nach 6 Monaten an einen neuen Kollegen weiterreichen.
1977
This is my Chevy Impala (my new company car with a colleague in the picture)
I am still looking for
a picture with a higher quality.I really liked this car. It had a
smooth V8 with 305cid.
Hier ist mein neuer Firmenwagen, ein Chevrolet Impala (mit einem Kollegen im
Bild) Ich bin noch auf
der Suche nach Bildern mit besserer Qualität. Der Wagen hatte einen sehr
laufruhigen V8 Motor mit
5.0 Liter Hubraum.
1978 - 1985
On the left is the VW Rabbit (Golf) we bought shortly before Alex was born.
The "260 Z"
was no longer practical
being a 2 seater. The center picture show me with the Audi Coupe we bought in
1983. For a couple of years we also had an Oldsmobile Delta 88 Station Wagon. It
had a Diesel and was a little troublesome. The last 2 pictures show Oma,
Alex and the next one Maggi, Sven and Alex next to our 1985 Chevrolet Blazer.
The only SUV we ever had, I don't think we need another.
Oben links ist der VW Golf den wir kurz vor Alexander's Geburt gekauft haben,
der Datsun 260 Z
war jetzt
unpraktisch mit nur zwei Sitzen. Im mittleren Bild bin ich zu sehen dem Audi
Coupé den wir 1983 gekauft
haben. Auf dem Bild rechtsaußen sind Oma und Alex zusammen mit unserem 1985er
Chevrolet Blazer
Kastenwagen. Unser einziges "Sport Utility Vehicle" in all den Jahren.
